About Mimi Roberts

Mimi Roberts is an artist who specialises in still life painting. Inspired by artists from Italy, Spain and the Netherlands from the 16th and 17th centuries, the subject of her work is taken from life. Food is the major theme, fish, fruit and vegetables froming the main part of her portfolio.

The paintings are in oil on board which are varnished. They are traditionally framed in painted black wood with wide gold slips, but alternative frames can be supplied.

Mimi will take commissions if a special subject is required, please contact to discuss.

Mimi usually shares a stand with her husband Geoffrey Stead at The Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair in Battersea Park. This happens 3 times a year, January, May and September. There will be a good selection of paintings showing there as well as her stock of 20th century glass. Lots of lovely vases of all shapes , sizes and colours! Something for everyone.

I will be doing the next fair  at Battersea on my own, which is a new venture, the stand will be small but I hope perfectly formed! I will be showing new paintings and glass as before...  It starts at 12 noon on Tuesday 20th of January this is the opening day and if you would like a ticket, please contact me. The fair continues on Wednesday 21st January at 11am to 8pm, Thursday 11am to 8pm, Friday 11am to 7am, Saturday 11 am to 7pm and Sunday 25th January from 11 am to 6pm.  My stand D09 will go under my own name Mimi Roberts and will be in in the centre. 

After good September sales at Battersea, I am working on a new collection and will be posting more paintings from time to time before the opening at the fair.  Fruit and veg as usual, I have also done a collection of cocktails and drinks, sets of fruit in blue and white bowls, plates of food etc.  I have also been buying lots of lovely glass which will be on show.
